Illinois’s veteran linebacker with a workhorse résumé
Conor Gillen is a throwback Illinois linebacker whose value comes from reliability, instincts, and experience: he appeared in 8 games across his Illinois career and was credited with 3 tackles in 2008, showing a depth-piece profile rather than a headline-stat star[2][3]. Illinois’ roster bio notes he logged nearly 300 stops in three seasons at linebacker before/around his Illinois run, and his background as a coach’s-son type adds the kind of football IQ and toughness teams usually love in the room[1].
