Brian Okam brings rare 7-foot size and defensive presence to App State
Brian Okam is a true center whose biggest value is size: at 7-foot, 245 pounds, he gives Appalachian State a rim-protecting, rebound-heavy body in the paint. In his App State season, he played 15 games with 9 starts, grabbed 22 rebounds in 88 minutes, and scored a season-high 4 points against ETSU, which points to a role built more on physical presence than offensive polish. He is a fit for a team that needs interior length, screen-setting, and low-usage toughness more than shot creation.
