TCU Freshman CJ Mascaro Brings Elite Utah Pedigree, But Injury Slowed His First Season
CJ Mascaro entered TCU as a highly regarded outfielder — Perfect Game ranked him the top outfield prospect and No. 4 player in Utah, and he was a three-time all-state performer and 2025 Deseret News Mr. Baseball. In his first year with the Horned Frogs, though, a season-long injury kept him from truly showing what he can do. The upside is clear: advanced prep résumé, real bat-to-ball promise, and enough athletic polish to project as a long-term piece if he gets healthy and regains reps.
