Appalachian State's Versatile Safety with Program-Record Durability and Nickel-Corner Fit
Nick Ross, a 2023 team captain and 66-game program-record holder for Appalachian State, closes his career with 256 tackles, 4 INTs, and 18 passes defended, showcasing elite durability and a third bowl win. His differentiator is position versatility: scouts rate him as a top-fit nickel corner who excels in zone coverage while handling man matchups, backed by solid play strength, intelligence, and a 4.55 40-yard dash. Though listed at 5'11", 185 lbs, his intensity and adaptability make him a significant role player for teams needing a mobile DB who can rotate across the defensive backfield. Ideal for squads seeking a smart, battle-tested safety with nickel flexibility and no major injury history.
