Xavier Correa brings a long, rangy frame and freshman upside to Mercer’s linebacker room
Correa is a 6-foot-4, 236-pound outside linebacker and a freshman for Mercer in 2026, giving the Bears a physical, development-friendly defender with uncommon length for the position. His background as a four-year defensive end at Treasure Coast High suggests a high-motor, edge-to-backer conversion who can thrive attacking downhill and setting the tone with size and intensity. Because he is early in his college career, the key question is polish, but the raw tools and positional flexibility make him an intriguing fit for a team that wants upside, toughness, and room to grow.
