Tyler Thomas is South Alabama’s disruptive, high-motor edge defender
In the 2025 season, Tyler Thomas gave South Alabama real juice off the edge: 17 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and two quarterback hurries in 11 games, showing up as a steady pressure player rather than just a box-score hunter. He’s a long, 6-foot-5, 259-pound defender whose best traits are effort, burst, and backfield disruption—he’s also shown takeaway ability, with two forced fumbles in his 2024 season. If a team wants a physical, versatile DL/edge piece who plays hard and can tilt a game with pressure, Thomas absolutely merits attention.
