Lobos' Scoring Forward from the Early 2000s Era
Senior forward Miranda Sanchez anchored New Mexico Lobos women's basketball in the 2000-01 season, averaging 12.9 ppg (5th in Mountain West) with a 20-point explosion in a dominant 71-49 win over SDSU, fueled by her 14-0 run and team-high rebounding edge; her clutch intensity and physicality as a 6-1 Albuquerque native made her a reliable scorer and board-crusher, though dated stats limit current scouting—ideal for teams seeking veteran-like poise in retro analysis.
