Mekhi Ware brings veteran ball skills and DB versatility to Indiana State
Ware’s calling card is disruption: in the 2019 season, he finished with 11 pass breakups and ranked among the Missouri Valley Football Conference’s better pass-deflection players, and in 2021 he added 15 total tackles with 6 solo tackles and 2 pass breakups in a standout game vs. Southern Illinois. He’s a long, physical defensive back at 6'1", 200 pounds who has shown playmaking instincts, toughness, and steady coverage awareness. For a team looking for a mature, coachable DB with proven ball production and leadership value, Ware checks a lot of boxes.
