Sean Dowling is Vanderbilt’s trusted blocking TE
Dowling’s value is in the trenches: at 6'5" and 265 pounds, he’s been Vanderbilt’s top blocking tight end and a player the staff trusted to start in multiple two-tight-end sets, which signals reliability in run support and assignment football. In his most significant Commodore role, he played every game and was used on special teams as well, while his receiving production has been minimal, so his fit is clearly as a physical, detail-oriented in-line blocker rather than a seam-threat pass catcher.[1]
