DePaul’s homegrown floor general with elite passing chops and Chicago legend vibes
In the 2001-02 season, Imari Sawyer was a high-upside DePaul guard who led the Blue Demons in assists and flashed real playmaking juice, including a 30-assist Great Alaska Shootout and a Conference USA Player of the Week nod. He wasn’t just a passer—he also averaged 10.0 points while running the offense with poise, though his season had some turbulence with a suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct. The big draw is his vision, pace, and creator mindset; the risk is consistency and discipline.
