veteran Iowa State defensive back with proven ball skills and playoff-tested toughness
McDowell is a depth-chart name worth knowing because his football résumé shows versatility and playmaking: at Iowa State he logged eight games with 16 tackles and an interception, and in high school he was a two-way impact player with 135 career tackles and eight interceptions. He stands out as a physical, instinctive defensive back with experience making plays in space and on the ball, plus a background that suggests competitive, multi-role value. If you want a DB who brings toughness, coverage instincts, and special-teams utility, he’s the kind of fit coaches like to keep around.
