Richmond Spiders RB with Proven Burst and Breakout Potential
Jovan Smith, a Louisville native and Richmond Spiders running back, brings FCS-level explosiveness with career highs like 102 rushing yards and a touchdown versus Delaware, plus 4 catches for 11 yards in that breakout 2023-24 game[2]. Previously at Morehead State in 2018, he rushed for 521 yards and 7 TDs on 88 carries (4.7 avg), notching two 100-yard games as a redshirt freshman[1][4]. His compact, intense running style shines in highlight-reel bursts, making him a differentiator for teams needing a versatile, chain-moving back—perfect fit for programs valuing FCS grinders ready to compete without major injury concerns.
