compact, crafty Spartan slot threat with punt-return juice
Laress Nelson is a veteran Michigan State receiver with proven Big Ten experience and value as a punt returner; in his Michigan State career, he has 19 catches for 191 yards in 32 games, which points to a role player who can help on special teams and in quick-game packages[1]. His biggest differentiators are polish, toughness for his size, and versatility rather than gaudy production, and that makes him more of a situational fit than a volume target[1]. He was a two-star recruit and has carved out a long college career, which suggests reliability and coach trust more than star power[1][4].
