Derrick Griffin's 6'7" Frame: A Rare WR Mismatch Nightmare for SWAC Defenses
Derrick Griffin, the 6-7, 210-pound 4-star recruit from Rosenberg, TX (247Sports rating 96, class of 2013), brings elite size and potential to Texas Southern's Tigers as a wide receiver, originally signed by Miami (FL) before transferring. His massive catch radius and basketball-honed athleticism (evident in explosive HS highlights vs. PVAMU 2016 and Dallas Kimball) make him a red-zone dominator and deep threat, perfect for exploiting smaller DBs. Still raw with untapped upside per Bleacher Report scouting, he's a high-ceiling fit for teams needing a big-bodied WR who plays with intensity—watch for breakout if he refines routes.
