Layton Hyneman brings pop, pedigree, and a catching fit for Presbyterian
Layton Hyneman has shown real offensive upside for Presbyterian in the 2026 season, including a .280 average, a .757 OPS, and a home run with 10 RBI, while also coming through with a 3-RBI game against Gardner-Webb. The redshirt freshman catcher was an accomplished high-school defender — including region Defensive Player of the Year — and that glove-first reputation gives him value even when the bat is still settling in. He looks like a good fit if you want toughness, defensive upside, and a player who can add sneaky run production without needing the spotlight.
