Hayden Pearson is a contact-killing freshman lefty with late-inning trust
In the 2026 season, Hayden Pearson has been used as a reliable relief arm for Louisiana, including two hitless innings against Kansas State and late-game outs in pressure spots against strong opponents. The freshman left-hander from Lafayette (6-1, 205, L/L) stands out for poise, ability to attack the zone, and coach-level trust in tight games rather than flashy radar-gun headlines. He looks like a fit for teams that value a competitive, local arm who can get outs without drama—and a little bit of Cajun grit never hurts.
