Grambling’s Disruptive Interior Anchor
Melvin Matthews is a powerful Grambling State defensive tackle with proven backfield disruption: in the 2008 season, he was credited with 34 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, and eight sacks, and he also earned first-team Black College All-America recognition[3][6][14]. That stat line screams impact, but the real value is his ability to wreck blocking schemes and force offenses to adjust protections around him[6]. For a team needing an interior tone-setter who plays with leverage, violence, and consistent disruption, Matthews looks like a fit with real edge[2][13].
