Chase Frey is becoming a true ace for Grand Canyon
Frey has been one of the Lopes’ most electric arms in 2026, highlighted by a 14-strikeout outing that tied the program’s Division I-era high and followed a complete-game shutout, earning Mountain West Pitcher of the Week honors.[1][2] The left-hander’s calling card is overpowering bat-missing ability and true game-changing dominance when he’s locked in, which makes him especially attractive if your team wants a frontline starter who can take over a series.[1][4] Beyond the numbers, his size (6-foot-6, 215 pounds) and reputation as a hard-nosed competitor suggest a pitcher with real pro-level upside.[4][5]
