Low-Usage Guard Who Brings Grit, Defense and Shot-Clock Value
In the 2025-26 season, Desmond Johnson is a complementary Western Carolina guard whose value comes less from volume scoring and more from doing the little things well: he averages 4.0 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists, and his profile suggests a steady, low-mistake backcourt piece rather than a primary creator. His best fit is on a team that needs toughness, defensive activity and reliable guard depth, not a usage-heavy ballhandler. He stands out as a glue guy who can survive in rotation minutes without needing touches to stay engaged.
