A Physical, Rebounding-First Forward with ACC Starting Experience
Abdul-Malik Abu was a productive, high-motor frontcourt player for NC State, peaking in the 2016-17 season at 11.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game before a quieter 2017-18 campaign dropped to 5.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.[1][3] His value comes from physicality, interior scoring, and a legit nose for the glass, but he was not a perimeter threat and his efficiency/role fluctuated late in college.[1][2] If you want a tough, experienced forward who plays inside and can bang, he fits; if you need stretch spacing or playmaking, he does not.[1][2]
