Alyssa Thompson brings size, rebounding, and steady frontcourt value to NCCU
In the 2017-18 season, Alyssa Thompson was a 6-foot-1 freshman forward for North Carolina Central who gave the Eagles interior length and grit, finishing with 2.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in 28 appearances. She flashed her best stretch early, including a season-high 14 points and 9 rebounds, which showed real upside as a low-usage, board-crashing presence. Her appeal is in the physical tools and willingness to do the dirty work rather than headline scoring, making her a fit for a team that values hustle, defensive presence, and development in the paint.
