versatile 6-foot guard with early-career size and rebound pop
Melia Pence is listed as a 6-foot guard for Arkansas State and, in the 2006-07 season, showed the kind of positional versatility coaches love: she could handle the ball, rebound, and defend bigger wings while giving the Red Wolves some length on the perimeter. Her stat line from that season was modest, but the differentiator is the profile—guard skills in a forward-sized frame, which usually translates to matchup flexibility and lineup creativity. She was also noted as a freshman newcomer, so the appeal is upside, not just raw production: a player who can grow into a useful two-way piece if the motor and skill development keep climbing.
