UCF freshman RHP Zach Beyra brings strike-throwing upside and rotation-level poise
Beyra arrives at UCF as a Florida prep arm with real present-day production: in his senior season at Western, he posted a 2.45 ERA with 38 strikeouts in 25.2 innings, and UCF notes he also threw 4.2 hitless innings in one outing, hinting at impact-innings potential. Recruiters liked the size-and-projection profile, but the bigger differentiator is his ability to miss bats while still showing starter-quality poise; the main thing to monitor is health, since a South Florida ranking noted an arm injury affected his stock.
