Ladell Betts is Iowa’s proven power back with NFL pedigree and a coach’s eye for detail
Betts was a productive Iowa runner who combined physicality with reliable pass-game value, finishing his Hawkeye career with 25 rushing touchdowns and 702 receiving yards, and later built credibility as a running backs coach. His differentiator is not just size and toughness, but the feel for the position that comes from being a high-volume collegiate and NFL back, which tends to translate well in development and room leadership. If you want a back who understands protection, leverage, and consistency under pressure, Betts fits the profile.
