Wesley Helms is giving UAB a veteran middle-infield bat with pop and production
In the 2026 season, Wesley Helms has been one of UAB’s most productive everyday bats, hitting .327 with 71 hits, 38 runs, 41 RBI, 6 home runs and a .447 on-base percentage across 58 starts. He brings a steady, high-contact approach with real gap-to-gap pop, plus enough game power to change innings when pitchers get careless. The added value is experience: a redshirt senior from Birmingham, he profiles as a composed, dependable presence who fits teams looking for mature offense, lineup stability, and an infielder who can handle meaningful pressure without getting theatrical about it.
