Jahleel Porter brings ball-hawking upside and instant-playmaker juice to VMI’s secondary
Jahleel Porter, a VMI defensive back, has already shown impact-play ability: as a freshman in 2022 he earned All-SoCon freshman recognition, logged tackles and pass breakups in multiple games, and even ripped off a 98-yard kickoff return touchdown at Chattanooga, a rare splash play that screams confidence and toughness. He looks like the kind of defender who brings energy, versatility, and return-game value—not just coverage chops. If a staff wants a DB with proven competitiveness and special-teams juice, Porter is worth a close look.
