Wright State’s heavy-bodied righty with swing-and-miss flashes and real bullpen value
Paplanus has been a useful leverage arm for Wright State, and in the 2025 season he appeared in 20 games, logged 31.1 innings, struck out 35, held hitters to a .205 average, and was named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team.[1][8] He’s a 6-foot-1, 215-pound right-hander with a quick arm and high three-quarter slot, traits that help his fastball play up and give him a polished bullpen profile.[3][7] The fit question is simple: if a staff wants a sturdy reliever who can miss bats and attack hitters, he’s worth a close look.[1][3]
