Shamar Shanks brings linebacker pedigree and a hard-nosed defensive profile to Monmouth
Shamar Shanks is a Monmouth linebacker with a strong prep résumé from Gilman, where he played under coach Biff Poggi and helped lead a 10-1 team that finished No. 2 in Maryland and No. 19 nationally. That background suggests a player used to winning, structure, and physical, assignment-driven football—good traits for a linebacker room. Publicly available current performance data is limited, so the main selling point is his pedigree, defensive fit, and the likelihood he can contribute with toughness, discipline, and special-teams value.
