Albert Dowdell gives USF a transfer-powered backfield spark
Albert Dowdell emerged in the 2025 season as a productive Nebraska transfer for South Florida, showing immediate playmaking value with 129 rushing yards and a touchdown in the opener, plus a receiving contribution that hints at useful versatility[1]. The eye-catcher is his burst-and-contact balance: he has the kind of downhill urgency that can tilt a game, and his transfer profile suggests a ready-made contributor rather than a long-developing project[1]. If a team wants a DB? That said, the available current info points to Dowdell as a running back, not a defensive back, so the position listing may be off[1].
