Illinois State’s reliable, academics-first tight end with proven conference recognition
Jonathan Denley’s profile at Illinois State centers on trust, toughness, and consistency: he earned 2005 Gateway All-Conference honorable mention and was named an academic all-star, which points to a disciplined, high-character player who handled both the playbook and the classroom well[8][13]. Earlier Illinois State materials describe him as a blocker-first tight end with a 6-foot-3, 255-pound frame and a strong run-game role, which is exactly the kind of “dirty work” TE coaches love when they want edge-setting help and dependable execution[5].
