Howard DB Fred Turner brings playmaking production and all-around back-end toughness
Fred Turner stands out as a disruptive Howard defensive back with proven ball production and impact-tackle ability, highlighted by a 2024 profile noting 88 tackles, six interceptions, and two scores. That kind of stat line points to a defender who can cover, diagnose quickly, and flip games with turnovers—exactly the kind of high-leverage, physical DB who raises a defense’s ceiling. He looks like a strong fit for a team that values instincts, run support, and playmaking over purely passive coverage.
