former Citadel guard with deep local roots and a role-player edge
Chayne Dawley was a 6-foot-2 guard for The Citadel in the 2005-06 season, and his profile points to a steady, team-first backcourt piece with size for the position and local experience from Bishop England High School[1][5]. One notable flash came when, as a freshman walk-on, he drilled a three-pointer in a 126-43 win that set a school scoring record, hinting at a confident spot-up mentality when he gets loose[2]. For a team, that suggests a player who likely fits best as a disciplined, complementary guard rather than a high-usage star[1][5].
