Caelan Goodwin-Slater brings projection, but his college sample is still a blank slate
Caelan Goodwin-Slater is a freshman right-handed pitcher on Longwood’s 2026 roster, but there is no published college stat line yet, so the evaluation leans on his recruiting profile rather than production. Prep coverage described him as an athletic, projectable arm who also flashed at shortstop, and Longwood/PBR listed him as an honorable mention preseason all-state type before college, which suggests upside and versatility. For a staff looking for a developmental pitcher with athleticism and room to grow, he looks like a smart upside play rather than an immediate finished product.
