The Intangible Guard Who Wins With Heart Over Stats
Tayanna Jones, a 6'1" senior guard from Selma, NC, for the Colorado Buffaloes, defines her value through elite intangibles rather than flashy scoring—epitomized by her team-leading defensive hustle and rebounding in Colorado’s 72-65 upset of No. 14 Arizona, where she scored just one point but tied for the team lead in key contributions. With 4.3 PPG, 2.9 RPG, and 0.6 APG in the 2022-23 season, her strengths lie in intensity, reliability, and playing near home with unmatched emotional drive. She graduated in 2023 and later played professionally in Finland, proving her fit for teams needing a high-intensity, low-maintenance guard who elevates the culture. If you care about players who win with grit, Jones is your ideal fit.
