stout interior anchor with playmaking pop
In the 2023 season, Lucas Hunter emerged as a disruptive interior defender for Indiana State, finishing with 32 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, a forced fumble, an interception, and a touchdown-return fumble recovery earlier in his career—rare all-around production for a DL. The key differentiator is his motor-plus-versatility blend: he shows up in the run game, flashes penetration, and can create splash plays without needing ideal conditions. Add the academic consistency and leadership vibe, and he profiles as the kind of gritty, high-IQ trench piece coaches love to keep on the field.
