veteran Houston DE with size and inside-out versatility
Jamal Baker is a 6-foot-3, 268-pound defensive end who brings veteran size and edge-to-interior flexibility to Houston’s front; in the 2014 season, he saw action in one game after not appearing in 2013, so the stat line is thin, but the profile is the point—long frame, sturdy build, and a classic depth-piece/rotation profile for a physical defensive line.[1][2] He’s the kind of player who can fit if a staff wants length, mass, and experience over splashy production, though his on-field résumé suggests he was more developmental than proven impact piece.[1][2]
