Mason Compton gives Wofford a sturdy right-handed arm with strikeout upside
In the 2025 season, Mason Compton worked in a swing role for Wofford, logging 35.2 innings across 15 appearances with 25 strikeouts, though his 8.33 ERA shows the command-and-contact consistency still has room to sharpen. The big appeal is the frame and profile: a 6-foot-3, 205-pound right-hander who has shown enough swing-and-miss to matter, plus durability and versatility as both a starter and reliever. He also earned Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll recognition, which hints at the kind of dependable, coach-friendly competitor teams love to keep around.
