Michael Witherspoon brings veteran ball-hawking value to UAPB’s secondary
Michael Witherspoon profiles as a seasoned defensive back with proven production and playmaking instincts, highlighted by his 2009 preseason All-SWAC recognition and 70 tackles in the 2009 season, including five tackles for loss and a pass breakup[5]. His calling card is football IQ and physicality near the line of scrimmage—traits that show up in how he attacks the run and disrupts offenses, not just in box-score stats[2][5]. If you want a DB who plays with edge and understands how to affect a game beyond interceptions, he fits that mold.
