Luke McGary’s value is in the dirty work — and Houston needs that at tight end
In the 2025 season, Luke McGary gave Houston a rugged, dependable TE profile: he caught 3 passes for 13 yards, but his 75.2 pass-block grade led the Cougars and ranked fifth in the Big 12 among non-offensive linemen. He’s a 6-4, 250-pound senior with career production from Tulsa (26 catches, 346 yards, 4 TDs), and the differentiator is clear — he can help win in the run game and protect the quarterback, even when the box score stays quiet. He’s a fit for teams that want a physical, assignment-sound tight end who does the unglamorous stuff well.
