Maryland's Block Party Boss and Rebound Machine (2006)
Ekene Ibekwe was a dominant 6'9" forward for the Maryland Terrapins, capping his career in 2005-06 with 11.1 ppg, 6.6 rpg, and 1.3 bpg in 32 games while finishing with school lore status—1,107 pts, 781 rebs, 230 blks as just the fourth Terp ever to hit 1K/500/200. His elite shot-blocking (2.7 bpg as a senior), rebounding tenacity, and clutch intensity shone in tournaments like the 2006 2K Classic (15 ppg, 9 rpg, 3 bpg), making him a defensive anchor with NBA upside. Long pro career abroad proves his enduring fit for winning teams craving rim protection.
