Temple DL Byron Rutherford brings veteran size and rotational grit
Byron Rutherford is a 6-foot-3, 270-pound junior defensive lineman for Temple in the 2026 season, with two seasons of eligibility remaining.[1] He’s a compact, sturdy interior presence whose value shows up in the dirty work: holding ground, eating blocks, and giving the Owls a dependable body up front. With limited documented game action in Temple’s roster notes, the story here is less gaudy stat line and more developmental depth piece with usable size and experience. If your team wants a blue-collar DL who can plug gaps and keep the front honest, he’s a reasonable fit.[1]
