Experienced NMSU linebacker with special-teams value and steady tackling
Jayvhion Gipson brings a dependable, team-first profile to New Mexico State: in the 2022 season he appeared in 12 games and made 7 tackles, then in the 2023 season he played 10 games and added 4 tackles with 1 tackle for loss[1][2]. At 6-foot-2 and about 210 pounds, he has the frame and multi-year experience coaches like in a linebacker, and his early-career recognition as a special-teams standout suggests urgency, effort, and trustworthiness[2][6]. He is a fit for teams needing a physical, assignment-sound defender who can help on coverage units and bring depth, even if he is not yet a headline stat monster[1][2].
