Lazaro Collera is giving Miami a big, right-handed frame with real swing-and-miss upside
In the 2025-26 season, Collera logged 14.0 innings with a 0-1 record and a 7.07 ERA, but his profile is more interesting than the line: at 6-foot-5, he brings starter-sized durability, flashes real strikeout ability, and has shown he can punch out lineups when his fastball and command are synced up. He posted a career-high 10 strikeouts in a 5.0-inning scoreless outing in February 2026 and later worked six shutout innings against Clemson in March, suggesting a pitcher Miami can trust when he’s landing the zone. If your team wants upside, size, and a potential midweek workhorse, he’s a name worth circling.
