Travis Jay brings veteran safety experience and special-teams value to Colorado
Jay is a seasoned defensive back who gives Colorado a physical, multi-phase contributor rather than just a depth piece: in 2024 he appeared in four games, logged four tackles on defense and 26 special-teams snaps, and he also made the Shrine Bowl 1000 Watch List.[1] Over his college career he has shown ball production and versatility, with 33 tackles, four pass breakups, three interceptions, and a forced fumble at Florida State before arriving in Boulder.[1] The main question is durability and consistency, but when healthy he looks like a smart, experienced safety who can help on coverage units and provide steady rotational support.[1][10]
