TCU Redshirt Freshman Ryan Hughes: Promising LT Starter Sidelined by Injury
Ryan Hughes, a 6'5", 280+ lb offensive tackle from The Woodlands, TX, burst onto the TCU scene in 2025 as a redshirt freshman, starting the first five games at left tackle before an injury cut his season short—showcasing elite pass protection and run-blocking tenacity from his high school dominance. No detailed PFF grades available yet, but his quick enrollment (June 2024) and immediate starting role signal NFL-caliber athleticism and coach trust. Injury history is a red flag, but his size, versatility (high school DT/OG too), and mean streak make him a high-upside fit for teams needing trench warriors who battle relentlessly.
