Steven Murphy brings veteran versatility and special-teams juice to SC State
Steven Murphy has been a multi-use defender for South Carolina State, with documented production as a DB and punt-return contributor; in the 2013 season, he was recognized on a CFPA Punt Returner Award Watch List after averaging 6.4 yards on 10 returns the year before, and earlier team stats show he also chipped in tackles and an interception. His value is less about gaudy numbers and more about reliability, experience, and twitchy playmaking in space. If you want a steady, physical back-end defender who can add hidden yards on special teams, Murphy fits the bill.
