Iowa State DB Steve Johnson: Emerging Cyclone Shutdown Corner with Pro Potential
Steve Johnson, Iowa State's agile DB, stands out with elite footwork and ball skills, drawing comparisons to NFL vet Stevie Johnson's release techniques; in 2025, he led Cyclones DBs with 4 INTs and 45 tackles, excelling in man coverage against Big 12 speedsters. His high-motor intensity and quick lateral bursts make him a turnover machine, injury-free over two seasons. Care because he's a rising draft prospect—perfect fit for teams needing a feisty, reliable CB who disrupts plays and fits zone-heavy schemes.
