Bucknell’s ball-hawking strong safety with academic chops
In the 2000 season, Dave Evans stood out as an opportunistic, high-IQ safety for Bucknell, finishing with 37 tackles, 3 interceptions for 119 return yards, 3 pass breakups, and a school-record 82-yard pick-six. He also earned major academic honors, suggesting a disciplined, detail-oriented player who brings more than just production—he brings reliability, instincts, and special-teams value. If you want a smart, physical defender who can flip a game with one takeaway, Evans is the kind of player coaches love to have on the field.
