Pepperdine’s strike-throwing bullpen arm with upside
In the 2026 season, Pepperdine RHP Matt Queen has had a rough start statistically, but the broader story is a durable, right-handed reliever with a track record of missing bats and big-game poise: he entered 2026 after appearing in 24 games in 2025 and 19 games in 2024, including a clutch strikeout that helped clinch Pepperdine’s first postseason berth since 2018. He’s a compact 5-11, 180-pound redshirt junior who already has 49 career strikeouts in 48.1 innings, and his value is in competitive toughness, experience, and a history of coming through in pressure spots.
