Peyton Backer brings size, experience, and classroom-grade consistency to Georgia Southern’s offensive line
In the 2026 preseason, Georgia Southern lists Peyton Backer as a redshirt sophomore offensive lineman at 6-3, 295, and notes he logged meaningful snaps in the 2025 season while earning Dean’s List honors with a 3.50+ GPA[1]. The appeal here is pretty clear: he’s a durable, academically driven OL with game experience, which usually translates to dependable technique, steady development, and coach trust[1][2]. There aren’t headline-grabbing stat lines for an offensive lineman, but Backer’s value is the kind teams love—availability, intelligence, and the ability to do the dirty work without drama[1][2].
